Election Season in Glendale is Really Something

GLENDALE CITY COUNCIL / CLERK
On June 2nd, Glendale voters will elect 3 City Council people and 3 school board seats, city clerk, city treasurer and probably something else we're forgetting.
The campaigns are underway and a few notable weirdos are in the mix! There are over a dozen people running for the 3 city council slots. The three school board areas also have multiple candidates running. City Clerk has a race too.
Let's have a look.
Evelina Sarian appears to be spending a lot of money in the hopes of being on Glendale City Council. She seemed to read from a teleprompter at her balloon-heavy campaign event last month. Her campaign is for "public safety first."
Patrick Murphy still wants to save the parking lots of Glendale. No bike lanes, no bus lanes, no housing - keep Glendale safe for longtime homeowners!
Gevorg Grigoryan is doing "intimate" book talks to campaign for City Council.
CITY CLERK
Twice-failed city council candidate Susan Wolfson has thrown her hat in the ring for City Clerk. She previously ran on anti-housing platforms to preserve "residential neighborhoods" as the "quality of life deteriorate[ed]."
GLENDALE SCHOOL BOARD
Janet Balekian has thrown her hat in the ring for Glendale school Board in Area D. Is she hoping to partner with her brother Alex Balekian as they campaign to root out every last trans person and renter in Glendale? Time will tell. With fewer than 50 followers, Janet still has some notable fans in Chino Valley School Board fascist Sonja Shaw. There are 2 other people running against Janet.

A man named Greg Krikorian who used to be on the school board for 20 years is somehow running for school board again in Area B. A quick Google search shows some problematic judgment calls but maybe that's what Glendale wants.
Over in Area C, a Charlie Kirk-lovin' lady by the name of Debbie Blute is also running for a school board seat. Based on her publicly available social media posts, she seems to lean MAGA and is online friends with people like Ara Najarian. Debbie Blute sure doesn't like AOC and reposted and praised gun-wielding Orange County anti-vaxxer covid conspiracist Dr. Jeffrey Barke.
As usual the biggest booster for this hate-slate of candidates appears to be an account allegedly run by Ara Najaria's sister, Maro Yacoubian who intersperses campaign recommendations with anti-semitic dog-whistles with racist caricatures, AI slop (sometimes all 3 in one!)
Ballots arrive the first week of May.
